Hello,
It seems like Christmas was yesterday.
Well, not much has happened since Christmas. Elder Shipp is struggling with health issues again, so we have had to stay in the house a few days.
Sunday was excellent. When I first got to Penang, there was an investigator named Pei Lin who was avoiding the missionaries. She had a baptism scheduled for the Saturday before I arrived. In her baptism interview with the assistant to the president, she expressed fears about her baptism, and he thought they were resolved. But, she didn't show up to her baptism, she didn't show up for church, and she didn't answer her phone. Well, she ended up answering her phone after about a week, and after a few weeks consented to meeting us again. We just had a couple of appointments in which she showed signs of wanting to come back, but she fizzled out into nothingness again. Well, after a text message from Elder Shipp, she came to church on Sunday. After relief society, the branch president took her into his office to talk to her. She says she has changed a lot, and has decided with confidence she wants to be baptized during the coming month. We set an appointment with her for tomorrow. Elder Stone and Elder Troxel will be coming for exchanges and so I think she would really love to see Elder Stone again.
We went on exchanges with the other set of elders in Butterworth yesterday. That was fun.
I spent most of Saturday on a bus. It was a long day travelling down to Sitawan for a baptism interview and coming back.
Maem was baptized after church on Sunday. It was fantastic. She's overcome a lot to get to that point.
Love,
Elder Muffler
